Bodies in Nature

Throughout my career as a men’s fashion photographer, I traveled to exotic locations such as Morocco, Egypt, New Zealand and the Mediterranean for European magazines and fashion catalogs.

During these trips I would pose people as part of the natural environment, such as on a log at the beach or the root of a tree. My goal is to show that man is a part of nature. We’ve separated ourselves with buildings and clothes yet we are all made of the same atoms and particles that are constantly in motion, all are connected, the oneness of everything.

I once read the description of going into the wilderness for an extended period of time and how after a few weeks, the changes in your thinking are profound.

From time distorting and not caring what day it is, to the chatter in your head stopping because there’s no longer the need to communicate. You eventually lose your sense of self or being as an individual and become a part of the nature that surrounds you. This concept sounds incredibly peaceful and I try to convey this in my photographs.
